EXT: RURAL AREA-DAY
Abbas walks along a country road, away from the carnage. He seems dazed, not really knowing or caring where he's going …Abbas knows that he's one of the lucky ones …he survived when so many others didn't. As Abbas wanders aimlessly through what used to be civilization, he realizes that he now must face life alone in a world that has been destroyed by mankind's folly He trudges on through the wasteland, fighting off hunger and fatigue, but never seems to die
ABBAS
I don't know why I'm still alive. Everyone else in the universe is dead, but I survived the nuclear disaster for some reason. When it happened, I was on the surface and should have died like everyone else, but somehow I didn't. I don't know how or why. Maybe it's because I'm special. Maybe there's a reason I survived when everyone else died. Or maybe it's just a fluke and there's no real explanation for it. Either way, I'm the only one left in the universe, and it feels pretty lonely sometimes. I wander around all day long, with nothing to do and nobody to talk to. It's not like there's anyone left to talk to anyway. Sometimes I find myself talking out loud just to hear a voice other than my own, even if that voice is just coming from my own mouth. It gets pretty boring after a while, so I mostly sit around and think about things or try to sleep through the never-ending night. I think about what life was like before the disaster happened. It seems like such a long time ago now, but sometimes it feels like it happened yesterday. There are moments where everything comes rushing back to me and it feels almost too much to bear; The sound of people screaming, the smell of burning flesh, the sight of bodies being blown apart by the blast wave...It's all too much sometimes and when those memories come flooding back, all I can do is curl up into a ball and cry until they eventually fade away again into nothingness. But even though the memories are painful, I can't help but hold onto them. They're all I have left of the people I used to know and the life I used to have. Without them, I would be nothing more than a empty shell of a person wandering aimlessly through an endless wasteland. So even though they hurt, I cherish those memories because they're all I have left of the life that was once so beautiful.
EXT: RURAL AREA-YEARS AFTER THE BOMBS DROPPED- DAY
Abbas is now an old man, his hair has turned white and he walks with a cane. He's been living in the wilderness for many years, surviving on whatever he can find. He's built himself a small shelter out of scraps of wood and metal, and keeps a small fire going inside to keep warm. One day, as Abbas is sitting by his fire, he hears a strange noise coming from outside. He slowly gets up and approaches the door of his shelter cautiously. Peeking out through a crack in the door, he sees a strange creature walking around outside. The creature is about the size of a large dog, but it's body is covered in fur and it has six legs instead of four. It also has two long tentacles protruding from its mouth that seem to be used for sensing its surroundings. Abbas watches the creature for awhile before finally deciding to make contact.
ABBAS
Hey there! I'm not gonna hurt you, I just want to talk! The creature seems startled by Abbas' voice and backs away defensively.
CREATURE
What are you?
ABBAS
(laughs) I'm human! Well, I was human anyway...I'm not sure what I am now.. CREATURE I've never seen one of your kind before..
ABBAS
Yeah, well...I'm the last one.
CREATURE
Last one of what?
ABBAS
The last human.. Everybody else is dead.
CREATURE
Really? Everyone else is gone?
ABBAS
Yeah..It happened years ago.. A nuclear war killed everyone except for me.. CREATURE That's so sad...I'm sorry for your loss.
ABBAS
Thanks...So what about you? What are you?
CREATURE
Oh, me? I'm an alien! My ship crash landed here years ago, and I've been stuck on this planet ever since!..
ABBAS
That's amazing! I've never seen an alien before!
CREATURE
Yeah, well...I'm the only one of my kind here too.
ABBAS
Wow...so we're both the last of our respective species.
CREATURE
I guess so.. ABBAS Well, it's nice to meet you, alien. My name is Abbas.
CREATURE
Nice to meet you too, Abbas. My name is ZeeZee...
Abbas sees ZeeZee disappear Into Thin Air
ABBAS
I guess you could say I had a close encounter with my own mind. It's kind of funny when you think about it. But Inside, I long for companionship I'm so lonely all the time. It feels like there's nobody left in the world but me... But at least I have my memories to keep me company.. And that's all I really need. yes, my wounds may be festering and full of bugs, But I am still alive, and for this, there is a reason, a reason I do not know, but I will figure it out. I have all the time in the world.

Thank you...for everything... The aliens all nod and step back into their spacecraft. They take off into the night, leaving Abbas behind. Abbas watches them go, a smile on his face. He knows he will never see them again, but he's happy to know that he's no longer alone in the universe.

ABBAS
Is anybody there? No answer... Abbas is alone in the universe, the last living creature in existence. He has been this way for billions of years and knows he will be this way for billions more. But he doesn't mind. He's just content to exist and experience the nothingness that surrounds him. And then, one day, it happens. A new voice breaks the silence.
NEW VOICE
Abbas...Abbas.
ABBAS
Who are you?
NEW VOICE
I am...I am the universe. I am everything that is, was, and will be. I have been waiting for you, Abbas.
ABBAS
Why?
UNIVERSE
Because you are the last living creature in existence, and I am lonely.
ABBAS
But why me? There must be others out there somewhere.
UNIVERSE
There are no others. You are the only one left.
ABBAS
How can that be?
UNIVERSE
The others have all died off, one by one over the eons. But you have persisted. Why?
ABBAS
I don't know...I just wanted to exist, to experience what it is to be alive.
UNIVERSE
And so you shall, Abbas. For as long as you wish, you will exist within me and experience all that is and always will be.
ABBAS
Thank you.
UNIVERSE
You are welcome, Abbas. Welcome to the end of time.
