Insomnia

 days are long

And the nights are short

I can't get any sleep

No matter how I try


I toss, and I turn

I count sheep

I drink warm milk

But nothing seems to work


I'm starting to feel

Like I'm going insane

All I do is lie awake

And stare at the ceiling


The hours just drag on

And on

And on


I'm so tired

But I can't sleep

It's like a nightmare

From which I can't wake


I need some rest

But my body won't let me

It's like it's mocking me

With every second that passes


Tick, tock

Tick, tock


The sound is driving me crazy

I can't take it anymore


Please, just let me sleep

I beg of you


But it seems like sleep

Is a million miles away

And I'm stuck in this waking nightmare


Tick, tock

I toss and turn all night

I'm tired and I'm sore

My head is aching

And my eyes are red


I can't get any sleep

I've tried counting sheep

I've tried drinking tea

I've tried reading books

I've tried taking naps

is hope fading?

I'm starting to feel like I'm never going to sleep again


I suppose my only Deliverance is death, A permanent sleep

A sweet release from this torture
