Why

Why do we keep fighting?

Why do we keep killing?

Is it for our country?

Is it for our flag?

No, it's not for either of those things

It's for the men in power who want to see us bleed

It's for the corporations who profit from our pain

It's for the politicians who use us as pawns in their game

We're just pieces in their grand design

And when we're gone, they'll simply find

Another batch of young men to send

Into the meat grinder, to meet their end

It's all just a game to them

A game of chess, with human lives

And they don't care who wins or loses

Just as long as they get what they want

In the end, we're all expendable

To them, we're nothing more than cannon fodder

So why do we keep fighting?

Why do we keep killing?

It's not for our country

It's not for our flag

It's for them, the ones who pull the strings

And use us as pawns in their game
