The 7 Doors by Derek Neilson - synopsis
The first door is opened
To a world of darkness and despair
A place where no light shines
And only evil lurks
At the second door, we find
A scene of bloody violence
Gruesome corpses strewn about
As if death itself had come to call
The third door reveals a sight
That would make even the bravest man quail
An unending void with creatures beyond imagining
Crawling towards us, hunger in their eyes
At the fourth door, we can go no further
For before us lies madness incarnate
A gibbering wreck that was once human
Gives us one last look before lashing out
The fifth door is locked tight
But something pounds from within
Begging to be let out, or begging for mercy
We cannot say which
The sixth door is a mirror
And in it, we see our own reflection
Staring back at us with cold, dead eyes
And finally, the seventh door
The way back home? Or another nightmare?
Only time will tell
As we step through into the unknown
